Calling all future game developers! Bring your video game ideas to life as you learn the ins-and-outs of how a video game is designed and produced. In our Game Design 4 Kids program, participants learn the basics of video game development and design their own games using kid-friendly developer tools.

Digital Game Design 4 Kids is a summer camp program from Fleming Tech Camps that is designed to introduce children to the exciting world of game design. At this camp, kids will explore and design platform-style 2D game experiences, learning the principles of 2D game design and understanding the process of refining game development.

One of the key learning objectives of the camp is for kids to understand the elements that make for fun gameplay. Through hands-on activities and projects, campers will learn about the different platforming elements that are found in games and how to incorporate them into their own designs. They will also learn how to use the software Bloxels to create their own games.

Another important learning objective is to understand the process of fine-tuning that is used in game development. Kids will learn how to take their initial game concepts and improve upon them, making changes and adjustments until they have a finished product. This process helps them to understand how to create games that are both fun and engaging for players.

The camp is open to kids in grades 2-4 and will be held at Fleming Tech Camps. It is a great opportunity for kids to learn about game design and develop their creativity in a fun and interactive way. The camp will be taught by experts who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience with the next generation of game designers.

Overall, Digital Game Design 4 Kids is a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn about game design and have fun at the same time. They will learn key principles of game design, understand the process of refining game development, and identify elements that make for fun gameplay. They will also develop their teamwork and problem-solving skills which will be valuable in any career they choose in the future.
