Morning Focus
Minecraft: The Science of Amusement Parks
Heart-pounding fun, thrilling rides and attractions, the sights and sounds of amusement parks are one of a kind. In the Science of Amusement Parks, participants will work with instructors as part of a team to learn the basic science and engineering behind roller coasters and other amusement park attractions. We will use Minecraft to create virtual rides and attractions to experience the thrill of the turns, tunnels and drops!
Afternoon Focus
Web Design 4 Kids
Have you ever wanted to make your own website, but aren’t ready to dive into coding? Web Design 4 Kids is about learning how to design a super cool website without the learning curve of having to use code and programming. Participants will learn the basics of web design using WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) design tools; they will be provided fun activities on including graphics and videos as well. By the end of the program, participants will have designed a series of web pages that reflect their personal interests and hobbies. Participants should be comfortable using a keyboard and be able to read or follow on-screen instructions.
